This guide describes how to create and edit test assets in HCL DevOps Test Hub (Test Hub), and then publish test assets to the remote Git repository that you have configured in your project. This guide is intended for testers and test managers.

Test Author Guide
This guide describes how to create and edit test assets in HCL DevOps Test Hub (Test Hub), and then publish test assets to the remote Git repository that you have configured in your project. This guide is intended for testers and test managers.
- Edit branch overview
  When you want to create or modify a test resource in HCL DevOps Test Hub (Test Hub), you must use an Edit branch. An Edit branch is a temporary branch of the branch in the project repository into which you want to add the created resource or edited resource.

You can restrict the project members from using this database connection by adding it to a Classification and providing permission only to the required members.

      You can add the database connection to a classification to grant access to the classification for other project members in HCL DevOps Test Hub (Test Hub). After the access is provided, they can use the database connection to create the database query and import the data from the database.

      You can remove a database connection from a classification when you are no longer required to provide access to other members of your project.
    - Editing a database connection
      You can edit the database connection, when you want to change the database details that you added earlier or if you want to update the SSL certificate file.

      When you want create a similar database connection with different user credentials, to create the similar database connection and restrict or unrestricted it, or to create a similar database connection by encrypting the data exchanged between HCL DevOps Test Hub (Test Hub) and database, you can create a new database connection using an existing database connection.

The feature provides data fabrication capabilities that can help you to generate synthetic data quickly and efficiently without the risk of data leaks or privacy issues.

Deleting a database connection

You can delete the database connection from a project when it is no longer required.

Before you begin

You must have completed the following tasks:

Ensured that you are assigned a role as a Project Owner or Tester in the project. See Managing access to the server projects.
Added at least one database connection. See Adding a database connection.

Procedure

Log in to Test Hub.

The team space that contains your project is displayed.
Click Active projects > My projects > project_name to open the project that contains the test assets.

The Overview page of the project is displayed.
Click Infrastructure > Database Connections.
The Database Connections page is displayed.
Click the Delete icon inline with the database connection that you want to delete.
The Delete Connection dialog is displayed.
Click Ok to confirm the deletion.
The Connection deleted successfully message is displayed.

Results

You have deleted a database connection from your project.
