After you install an agent for HCL Launch, you can modify its configuration or create an agent relay to facilitate communication to remote relays.

- High availability and failover
  You can configure clustered HCL Launch servers, and agents for high availability. You can also configure agents and agent relays for failover.
- Setting up high-availability clusters
  To configure a high-availability cluster, you store shared files on network storage. Then, you configure multiple servers, set each server to access the same files and database, and configure a load balancer to distribute the traffic between the servers.
- Adding cold standby servers
  You can add cold standby servers to serve as a backup server or for disaster recovery. You must start the secondary server or servers when the active server fails, and network traffic is routed to the secondary servers.

  You can back up and recover the contents of your HCL Launch installation.

Setting agent properties

Agent properties store information that are relevant to a specific agent.

About this task

Agents have many properties. These properties are categorized into:

Agent properties - Agent properties are uploaded by the agent during installation and are stored in the database property sheet. These properties are only updated when the agent connects with the server and by using the agent property collection APIs.
User-defined properties - User-defined properties are stored in VC and versioned when the properties are configured.

To view or set agent properties:

Procedure

Navigate to Resources > Agents > agent name > Configuration.
View the non-versioned properties from the Agent Properties table.
View or update the versioned properties from the User Defined Properties table.
You can click Add Property to add a property to the table. Each property can be deleted and edited.
