ClearCase Doctor

DevOps Code ClearCase® Doctor analyzes and reports on this computer's readiness to run ClearCase. You can also use it for either of the following tasks:

  • analyze this computer's ability to contact specific ClearCase servers on your local area network
  • analyze another Windows computer on your local area network

If ClearCase Doctor finds problems that could affect ClearCase operations, it suggests a solution and may be able to fix the problem for you. It may also tell you the circumstances under which you can safely ignore certain problems.

ClearCase Doctor runs just before you install a new version of ClearCase and when you reboot after installing a new version of ClearCase. (The set of tests run during installation are a subset of tests run at logon.) You can also run ClearCase Doctor at any other time. In some instances, IBM Software Support for Rational products might ask you to run ClearCase Doctor and then report or mail in the results.

Note: For any analysis, ClearCase Doctor displays additional information if you first select Options > Verbose. For example, in verbose mode, ClearCase Doctor reports timing statistics (such as how long it takes to contact a server).
