If you are using an enterprise deployment strategy, you must prepare your shared locations before users can install the product packages.

In this scenario, you place the electronic image on a shared directory or drive so that users in your enterprise can access the installation files for the product from a single location.

Procedure

To place the installation image on a shared directory or drive, perform the following steps:

Ensure that your shared directory or drive has sufficient disk space to store the extracted installation image. If you plan to download from IBM Passport Advantage® to the shared directory, it must also have sufficient space for the downloaded files.
From IBM Passport Advantage, download all required parts for the product image to a temporary directory.
Extract the installation image from the downloaded files into an accessible directory on the shared directory or drive and verify that the installation image is complete. For details, see Verifying and extracting electronic images.
