  HCL Connections™ is a collaborative tool that makes it easy to connect with others and exchange ideas. Start sharing important information, building a network of useful contacts, and following people that interest you.
- Home page
  Use the home page as a command center to scan and manage items that need your attention. You can view your most recent project updates, check in on the people you follow, and review your action items all from one place.

  Use profiles to connect with others, showcase your skills, and find the people you need.

    Ready to start connecting? Get your profile ready with these basic setup tasks.
    - Setting up your profile
      Make yourself easy to find and simple to connect with. Post a photo, share details about your background, and let others know how to get in touch.
    - Searching for people
      Looking for people to add? Either search by a person's name, or search based on their location, expertise, or tags.
    - Inviting a person to your network
      Ready to start collaborating? Invite someone to join your network. Once they accept, they'll be added to your Network Contacts and you can view each other's status updates.
  - Sharing your expertise
    Got something to say? Use your profile as a platform for sharing ideas, knowledge, and expertise.
  - Growing your network
    Ready to expand your network? Invite people to join your network, or accept invitations to become part of another person's network.

    Looking to make new connections? Use the social analytics apps to learn about new people you can connect with.
- Activities
  Use activities to keep a team informed, collect and share project resources, or to assign and track tasks.
- Files
  Using the Files app, you can upload, organize, share and collaborate on files easily. Files can be shared, tagged, organized in folders, and accessed from other applications, such as Activities and Communities.
- Communities
  Get together with people who share your interests.
- Blogs
  Use blogs to share your announcements, updates, and opinions with others.
- Forums
  Share information, brainstorm ideas, ask and answer questions, and discuss topics of mutual interest in a forum.
- Wikis
  Tap the wisdom of the crowd by building a body of knowledge in a wiki. Everyone on your team can make a contribution.
- Bookmarks
  Use Bookmarks to collect and organize shortcuts to websites.

Searching for people

Looking for people to add? Either search by a person's name, or search based on their location, expertise, or tags.

Searching with Profiles

Already know who you're looking for? Perform a basic profile search.

Click the Search icon.
Type the person's name.
Click Profiles by name.

Searching with the directory

Need to find an expert? Use the directory to perform an advanced search.

From the navigation bar, click Profiles > Directory.
Click Display full search options and fill out the fields.
Click Search.

Next steps

Once you've found who you're looking for, go ahead and invite them to your network.
