- Overview
  HCL Connections™ is a collaborative tool that makes it easy to connect with others and exchange ideas. Start sharing important information, building a network of useful contacts, and following people that interest you.
- Home page
  Use the home page as a command center to scan and manage items that need your attention. You can view your most recent project updates, check in on the people you follow, and review your action items all from one place.
- Profiles
  Use profiles to connect with others, showcase your skills, and find the people you need.
- Activities
  Use activities to keep a team informed, collect and share project resources, or to assign and track tasks.
- Files
  Using the Files app, you can upload, organize, share and collaborate on files easily. Files can be shared, tagged, organized in folders, and accessed from other applications, such as Activities and Communities.

- Blogs
  Use blogs to share your announcements, updates, and opinions with others.
- Forums
  Share information, brainstorm ideas, ask and answer questions, and discuss topics of mutual interest in a forum.

    Browse the forums in your organization to search for solutions to problems or to share your expertise with others.
    - Adding forum topics
      Start a discussion with people in your organization by creating a forum topic. Anyone who can access Forums can view the new topic.
    - Posting questions and answers to a forum
      Using a forum to ask and answer questions is a great way to share expertise and provide answers to frequently asked questions.
    - Responding to forum topics
      Join in a discussion by responding to forum topics that interest you.
    - Editing, moving, or deleting forum content
      Edit, move, or delete forum topics, and mark topic content as inappropriate.
    - Following forums and forum topics
      Follow a forum when you want to receive notifications about the latest updates to the forum. If you are interested in a particular forum thread, you can also follow forum content at topic level.
    - Flagging forum content as inappropriate
      If a forum contains content that might be considered inappropriate, flag the content to alert the forum moderator. Any Forums user can flag forum content as inappropriate.
  - Creating and managing forums
    When you are the Forums administrator or a forum owner, you can edit, delete, and lock or unlock a forum. In addition, you can pin forum topics so that they appear first in a forum.
- Wikis
  Tap the wisdom of the crowd by building a body of knowledge in a wiki. Everyone on your team can make a contribution.
- Bookmarks
  Use Bookmarks to collect and organize shortcuts to websites.

Posting questions and answers to a forum

Using a forum to ask and answer questions is a great way to share expertise and provide answers to frequently asked questions.

To post a question, create a topic and choose Mark this topic as a question.
To answer a question, create a reply.
When you answer a question in a forum, the person who posted the question receives a notification with your answer. That person can choose whether to accept or reject your answer. If they accept your answer, the question is marked as answered and is flagged with a tick to indicate that it is answered correctly. A question can have multiple correct answers.
Note: If you answer your own question, the response is automatically flagged as an accepted answer.

Question topics that are still not answered are displayed on the Open Questions tab on the My Forums page. You can view resolved questions by clicking the Answered Questions tab.
