Inviting people to join

Reach out to people who you think might be interested in your community by inviting them to become members. The invitees receive an email that invites them to join.

Inviting people to the community

To invite people to join a community, complete the following steps.
  1. From the I'm an Owner view, select the community to which you want to invite new members.
  2. Click Members in the navigation pane the click Invite Members.
  3. Type the names of the people that you want to invite in the Members field. Click the names of people you want to invite.
    Tip: Hover the mouse over a person's name to see whether they are external.External user icon.
  4. Click Send Invitations.

Sending batch membership invites

Send an email that invites multiple people to join your community by using the import tool on the Members page.

To invite multiple people to join a community, complete the following steps.

  1. Open the Members page of the community that you want to invite people to join.
  2. Click Import Members and select Invite people to the community.
  3. Complete one of the following steps:
    • To invite people by using their email addresses:
      1. Select Enter comma-separated email addresses.
      2. Enter the email addresses of the people that you want to invite and click Import.
    • To invite people by using email details in a comma-separated value (CSV) file:
      1. Click Select a CSV file of email addresses.
      2. Click Browse to locate the CSV file that contains the email addresses , and then click Import.
