Some administrative tasks are required to configure and maintain the HCL Compass full-text search feature.

You must complete a set of configuration tasks before enabling full-text search for HCL Compass Web.

Configuring and enabling the full-text search feature for HCL Compass Web consists of the following tasks:

Review the feature-level requirements for deploying full-text search.
Ensure that the full-text search feature is installed. For information about installing this feature, see Installing HCL Compass Web server.
Use the Full-Text Search Administrator tool, cqtsadmin.pl, to set up and configure the feature. Scenarios for setting up and configuring full-text search describes some common use-case scenarios.
Ensure that Solr is running.
Secure the Solr administrative console.
