Designing data-pull reports
The data-pull model allows reporting systems like Business Intelligence and Report Tools (BIRT) to configure data sources and pull data from these sources when the report is run. This approach provides significant flexibility by letting you create reports that use multiple data sources and multiple data sets, and by letting you store and manage reports using an enterprise reporting server.

The sample reports are located in the following directory:

On Windows™:

<compass-home>\reports\driver\plugins\com.hcl.ccm.cq.report.samples_<version>.<timestamp>.jar

On the UNIX™ system and Linux™:

/opt/hcl/compass/reports/driver/plugins/com.hcl.ccm.cq.report.samples_<version>.<timestamp>.jar

The samples directories contain readme files to describe the sample reports:

BIRT: Contains the sample reports created with BIRT. This subdirectory also includes a Readme file with additional information about the sample reports.
Queries: Contains the HCL Compass queries that are associated with some of the sample reports in the BIRT subdirectories.

Some of the sample reports were created by using queries that are included in the sample Defect schema; other sample reports use queries that are not included in the Defect schema by default. You must import the latter queries into the HCL Compass Public Queries/Report Queries folder before you can run the associated sample reports.
