Restricting access to tabs

By default, a page and its respective tab is visible to all users, but you can restrict access to a page so that it is visible only to users in selected groups.

Procedure

To restrict access to a page:
  1. Start the Designer.
  2. In the Schema Repository Explorer view, expand the Record Types or Record Types - Stateless folder and then expand the node of the record type you want to modify.
  3. Expand the Forms folder and then expand the folder for the form you want to update.
  4. Expand the Tab Folder folder to view the existing tabs on the form.
  5. Click on the tab that you want to modify.
    The properties page for the tab opens.
  6. On the properties page, click the User Groups section and do any of the following.
    • To display the tab to all users, select All Users.
    • To display the tab to users in selected groups, clear the All Users check box and select the groups in the Allowed User Groups list.
