Updating existing records

This topic provides guidelines for using the Import wizard to make changes to existing records.

You can use the Import wizard to update records that you previously imported. For example, if you modified records in your old system that were imported into a HCL Compass database, you can update the imported records with the new data.

Do not change the records in both locations. If you upgrade existing records that were modified in the HCL Compass environment, your changes are lost.

To update existing records, follow the procedure in Importing data into HCL Compass.
