Reverting the state of duplicate records

You can revert a duplicate record to the state it was in before it was marked as a duplicate. Reverted records can be modified.

About this task

The Unduplicate action is the reverse of the Duplicate action. It returns the record to its original state, and the record form toolbar includes all the corresponding actions in that state. If the original record and the duplicate record have Duplicate Information fields, these are updated to reflect the Unduplicate action.

To revert the state of a duplicate record:

Procedure

  1. While viewing the record, Click Utilities on the record form toolbar and click Unduplicate.
The record is returned to its original state and appears in edit mode.
  2. Enter data in any required fields. Labels associated with required fields and the tabs on which they appear are indicated by red text.
  3. Click Save.
