Copy the HCL Compass Reporting
Driver plug-ins to the plugins directory of the BIRT Report Designer to enable
reporting from Compass data
sources.
Before you begin
HCL Compass supports only a subset of
the Report Designer RCP software versions available in the Business Intelligence and Reporting tools
collection. Before beginning the installation, review technote
1509579 to determine which version to install.
The HCL Compass Reporting Driver requires the Java™ Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.6.0 or higher. Reporting
tools that use older versions of the Java Runtime Environment
cannot load and use the HCL Compass Reporting
Driver. If you already have a Java Runtime Environment
installed on your system, run this command from a command prompt to check the version
number:java -version.
About this task
The BIRT Designer is a simple to use RCP Version of the BIRT Report Designer for report
developers on the Windows™ platform. You must configure this
application with the HCL Compass Reporting
Driver to enable reporting from Compass data

Procedure

Download the BIRT RCP Designer from http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/

Extract the contents of the BIRT RCP Designer archive.

Copy the HCL Compass Reporting Driver
plug-ins from the Compass reports directory to
the .\plugins directory of the report designer. The plug-ins are in one of this
directory
- On Windows:
- %COMPASS_HOME\reports\driver\plugins
- On UNIX™ or Linux™:
- $COMPASS_HOME/reports/driver/plugins
