Applying package upgrades

You might need to upgrade your integration packages when there are changes in HCL Compass or the integration packages.

To apply package upgrades:

  1. Log in to the Designer with Super User or Schema Designer privileges.
  2. Right-click on a schema version in the HCL Compass Schema Repository Explorer view and click Packages > Upgrade Installed Packages.
  3. Select the schema name from the list of schema repositories and click Next. A list of all the packages that need to be applied appears.
  4. Click Upgrade.
  5. Click Exit after the upgrade completes.

If you are upgrading a UCM integration from the latest release, make sure to map the UCM state types before you move to the next step. To map the UCM state types:

    1. Right-click on a schema version in the HCL Compass Schema Repository Explorer view of the Designer and click Packages > Setup State Types.
    2. In the Package Wizard, click AMStateTypes from the list of Packages and accept the default value for the Record Type.
    3. Map each of the states to the appropriate State Type.
    4. If you have UCM integrations with additional record types, they will be listed in the Record Type list. Select the next record type and repeat the mapping process for each of the record types.

See Customizing state models with the State Transition Matrix for more information on mapping state types.

  6. Verify your work by clicking File > Test Work. Select the test database associated with the schema and click OK. See Creating a test database for more information on testing schemas.
  7. Check in your changes in the HCL Compass Schema Repository Explorer view after you are done testing.
