Scenario 2: Basic customer access to an internal database

This scenario illustrates basic customer access to an internal user database where the customer users have no access to the Public Queries folder.

This scenario is applicable when a customer has a single user account for all its employees to use when accessing another company's HCL Compass database.

The Security Administrator performs the following steps:

  1. Creates a Compass group called CustomerGroup.
  2. Adds CustomerUser to CustomerGroup.
  3. Provides account information on the CustomerUser account to the customer company.
  4. Grants No-Access permission to CustomerGroup on the Public Queries folder.

Result: Customer users can log in to the internal Compass database using the CustomerUser account and access the CustomerUser's Personal Queries folder. The CustomerUser account can see the Public Queries folder, but not its contents.
