Tools for managing databases

Administrators use a variety of tools to create and manage schema repositories, connections, user databases and other related entities. Modification of HCL Compass data and tables is supported only when using Compass tools.

The tools administrators use and tasks they perform include:

Use the Maintenance Tool to perform these tasks:
  • Creating and managing schema repositories, which includes updating the physical location of a schema repository if it was moved without using the Maintenance Tool
  • Creating and modifying connections and connection profiles
  • Creating sample user databases
  • Moving schema repositories to different locations and vendor databases
  • Upgrading schema repositories to new feature levels of HCL Compass
  • Setting the HCL Compass data code page for schema repositories
