Testing your customization

In this lesson, you test your customization result by verifying write access in Management Center by logging in as a user with a Search Term Manager role.

Procedure

  1. Start you HCL Commerce Test Server.
  2. Open Management Center and log in with your new Search Term Manager user ID credentials.
  3. From the Management Center Tools menu, open the Catalogs tool. The Catalogs tool is the only tool available since it is the only tool that you assigned to the Search Term Manager role.
  4. In the Explorer view, select Search Term Associations.
  5. Verify that you have write access to Search Term Associations by creating a search term association.

  6. Verify that you have read-only access to other business objects.
    1. In the Explorer view, browse your store catalog and open the properties view for any catalog entry.
    2. Within the properties view, ensure that you cannot edit any fields and that (Read-Only) displays in the properties view.

      If you can create or edit search term associations but have read-only access for all other objects, your customization is successful.
