Known limitations and workarounds

The following are software limitations and workarounds that affect Dynamic Workload Console 10.2.1:
Case-sensitive search bars in the Orchestration Monitor
The search bars in the Orchestration Monitor are case-sensitive.
Workaround
Enter the name of the item using uppercase letters only. Do not enter special characters.
Impossibility to generate Workstation Workload Summary reports on Informix database
The creation of Workstation Workload Summary reports fails when using Informix database.
Impossibility to save queries in the Orchestration Monitor page on Informix and OneDB databases.
Saving queries in the Orchestration Monitor page is not possible when using Informix and OneDB databases.
Impossibility to generate reports on Dynamic Workload Console with z/OS engine
The generation of reports in the Dynamic Workload Console fails on z/OS engine.
Impossibility to use inline column filtering in the Orchestration Monitor page after selecting the Jobs action from the job stream table
When you select a job stream from the Orchestration Monitor and then click on the Jobs action, the job table appears without the inline column filtering search bars.
Show only selected option in the Orchestration Monitor page does not work on certain actions
The Show only selected option in the Orchestration Monitor page does not work when using predecessor and run instances actions.
The screen help is only visible if the browser where the Dynamic Workload Console runs is set to one of the supported languages
The screen help in the Dynamic Workload Console is only visible if the browser where the Dynamic Workload Console is running is set to one of the following supported languages:

Upgrading the Dynamic Workload Console to version 10.2.1

This section describes how to upgrade the Dynamic Workload Console to version 10.2.1.

Before starting the installation, verify that:
  • The Dynamic Workload Console is active.
  • No user is connected to the Dynamic Workload Console to prevent the data related to their working session from being lost.
Installation notes
  • On AIX 7.1, install the latest version of libz.a (packed in zlib-1.2.13), which is necessary; if not already installed, install the following rpm:

    https://public.dhe.ibm.com/aix/freeSoftware/aixtoolbox/RPMS/ppc/zlib/zlib-1.2.13-1.aix7.1.ppc.rpm

  • Before upgrading, ensure you have installed the required prerequisite software. To obtain the latest information about software requirements for HCL Workload Automation, see HCL Workload Automation Version 10.2.1 Release Notes.
  • Supported WebSphere Liberty versions
    The formal test phase was performed using WebSphere Liberty 23.0.0.10. The minimum required WebSphere Liberty version to successfully install the package is 23.0.0.3 or later.
  • On UNIX systems only: Before installing either the Dynamic Workload Console version 10.2.1, make sure that umask is set to 022. To verify that umask is set to the correct value, from a command prompt, run the umask command. If the value is different from 022, modify it by running the command:
    umask 022
Interoperability notes
Dynamic Workload Console version 10.2.1 supports all product versions indicated in the Dynamic Workload Console version 10.2.1 Release Notes which can be accessed at the following link: Dynamic Workload Console Version 10.2 Release Notes.
Installation methods
When you install the package, the installation path varies depending on the version level you have currently installed:
  • You can install directly the Dynamic Workload Console General Availability version 10.2 together with the latest package, as described in Installing from the CLI.
  • You can update the Dynamic Workload Console from General Availability version 10.2 to the latest package, as described in Updating the Dynamic Workload Console.

If necessary, you can also return to a previous product version level, as described in Returning the Dynamic Workload Console to a previous product version level.

Disk space requirements

Before starting the version updating, ensure that you have the following space available in the file system. The values indicated in the table show the disk space required by the Dynamic Workload Console alone. For the disk space required by other components, see the relevant documentation.

Note: In addition to the above disk space, the installation requires further 579 MB on /usr file system.

If the installation fails because of lack of free disk space, you must stop the installation, free space on your disk, and start the installation again.
