VersionVault Doctor

HCL VersionVault Doctor analyzes and reports on this computer's readiness to run VersionVault. You can also use it for either of the following tasks:

  • analyze this computer's ability to contact specific VersionVault servers on your local area network
  • analyze another Windows computer on your local area network

If VersionVault Doctor finds problems that could affect VersionVault operations, it suggests a solution and may be able to fix the problem for you. It may also tell you the circumstances under which you can safely ignore certain problems.

VersionVault Doctor runs just before you install a new version of VersionVault and when you reboot after installing a new version of VersionVault. (The set of tests run during installation are a subset of tests run at logon.) You can also run VersionVault Doctor at any other time. In some instances, HCL Software Customer Support might ask you to run VersionVault Doctor and then report or mail in the results.

Note: For any analysis, VersionVault Doctor displays additional information if you first select Options > Verbose. For example, in verbose mode, VersionVault Doctor reports timing statistics (such as how long it takes to contact a server).
