Verify that the required Linux software packages are installed

Instructions for verifying whether the required software packages are installed on your system depend on which version of Linux™ you are running.

Note: On all versions of Linux, the name of the required packages might vary slightly, depending on your particular kernel variant. For example, you might see these substrings in the package names:
  • smp
  • default
  • bigmem
  • hugememu

For information on Ubuntu, see technote 416937.
