MVFS caches in Solaris zones

On a host that is running a version of the Solaris operating system that supports zones, special tools and procedures apply when working with MVFS caches in a non-global zone.

On Solaris 11, zones are a virtualization technology that provides isolation and a secure environment for applications. The global zone is the initial zone of the Solaris 11 operating system. Non-global zones and branded zones provide virtual operating environments in which applications can run as though they were installed on a separate host.

Getting MVFS cache statistics for a zone

To access MVFS cache information and statistics for a zone, you can use these HCL VersionVault commands and utilities while logged on to that zone:
  • cleartool getcache -mvfs
  • versionvault-home-dir/etc/mvfscache
  • versionvault-home-dir/etc/mvfsstat
