Security policies and permissions

Security policies are made up of roles that reflect job titles or responsibilities.

Each role in a security policy is a set of permissions: rules that grant or block user access to features and options in Collaborate. For example, you can configure security policies that ensure the following.

  • Managers have access to all the Lists, On-demand Campaigns, and Corporate Campaigns in their business units.
  • Users' access to Lists, On-demand Campaigns, and Corporate Campaigns is based on both their business unit and their job function.
  • Only select users can create new Lists, On-demand Campaigns, or Corporate Campaigns.

Any object that is created in Collaborate is governed by a security policy. The security policy that is assigned to a new object is determined by the template that was used to create it.
