Installing the Cloudera ODBC driver
This topic explains how to install the Cloudera ODBC driver, which is a fully compliant ODBC driver that supports multiple Hadoop distributions.
Procedure

Obtain the Cloudera ODBC Driver for Apache Hive Version 2.5.16 for Apache Hadoop Hive at http://www.cloudera.com/content/cloudera/en/downloads/connectors/hive/odbc/hive-odbc-v2-5-16.html.
Download and save the Cloudera Hive ODBC driver on the Unica Campaign listener (analytic server).
The default location is /opt/cloudera/.
- Install and configure the Cloudera driver. Installation instructions are downloaded to where you install the driver. By default, the instructions are downloaded to /opt/cloudera/hiveodbc/Cloudera-ODBC-Driver-for-Apache-Hive-Install-Guide.pdf. The PDF file is also available online at www.cloudera.com.

Download and install UnixODBC Manager, unixODBC-2.3.2 on the Unica Campaign listener (analytic server). Download UnixODBC
Manager from the unixODBC Project at http://www.unixodbc.org/. The UnixODBC Manager is available in a gzip, tar
format.

To create a unixODBC directory that contains the required source files:
- Copy the unixODBC-2.3.2.tar.gz file to the Unica Campaign listener (analytic server).
- gunzip unixODBC-2.3.2.tar.gz
- tar xvf unixODBC-2.3.2.tar
- On the Unica Campaign listener, run rpm -ivh ClouderaHiveODBC-2.5.16.1005-1.el6.x86_64.rpm.
