Community server configuration files

This topic describes the primary configuration files on a Community Server. It is beneficial to retain a backup copy of these files once the server configuration is complete.

stconfig.nsf:
  • This is an HCL Notes database that must be accessed using the HCL Notes or Administrator client.
  • This file is located in the Domino\Data directory on Windows and in /local/notesdata on Linux.
sametime.ini:
  • This file is used to configure and tune Community server applications.
  • This file is a sectioned configuration file. The sections are noted in square brackets, for example [Config]. Sametime.ini settings must be located in the correct section, otherwise they will not take effect.
  • Do not duplicate section names or parameters.
  • Do not use illegal xml characters.
  • This file is located in the Domino program directory on Windows, and in /local/notesdata on Linux.
chatlogging.ini
  • This file is used to configure persistent chat logging.
  • This file is located in the Domino program directory on Windows, and in /local/notesdata on Linux.
notes.ini
  • This file is used to configure, tune and secure the Domino server that is utilized by the Sametime Community Server.
  • This file is located in the Domino program directory on Windows, and in /local/notesdata on Linux.
UserInfoConfig.xml
  • This file is used to configure business cards.
  • Be sure to follow XML syntax rules.
  • UserInfoConfig.xml is located in the Domino program directory on Windows and in /local/notesdata on Linux.
policies.user.xml
  • This file is used to configure policies for end users.
  • XML syntax rules apply.
  • policies.user.xml is located in the Domino program directory on Windows and in /local/notesdata on Linux.

Existing Sametime environment settings (LDAP tuning, for example) can be migrated to new Sametime 11 servers.
