Trap severity
A severity code is contained by each trap. The severity code is not included in the trap; it is added when the network management program trap daemon is configured.
The following describes each severity code:
- CLEARED
- Establishment of a normal status
- INDETERMINATE
- Informational messages
- WARNING
- Possible system errors
- MINOR
- Low-priority error; for example, failure in an end system
- CRITICAL
- Medium-priority error; for example, failure of a component between a central system and an end system
- MAJOR
- High-priority error; for example, failure of a central key component
