SafeLinx Clients
SafeLinx Clients can establish virtual private network (VPN) connections with mobile access services across various wireless and wireline network. SafeLinx Clients use these optimized, secure IP tunnels to communicate with resources on the internal network.

To get started with the SafeLinx Client, review the software and hardware requirements, and then read the instructions on how to install the client, apply maintenance, and start the client.

SafeLinx Clients

      You can start the SafeLinx Client using a command line or the icon that has been added to the Internet folder for Linux distributions such as RedHat and SuSE that use Gnome or KDE environments.

      You can use a command line to remove the SafeLinx Client.
  - Using the SafeLinx Client on Linux
    You can use the SafeLinx Client to create connections, change passwords, export and import files, roam between networks, manage connection properties, and more.
  - Configuring clients with configuration files
    There are several configuration files that provide the parameters used by the SafeLinx Client program to establish a connection with the SafeLinx Server.
- OS X
  Install, configure, and use the SafeLinx Client component of HCL SafeLinx for use on Mac OS X systems.
- Windows
  Install, configure, and use the SafeLinx Client component of HCL SafeLinx on Microsoft Windows systems.

Procedure

If you do not already have one, HCL SafeLinx customers can register at the HCL Support website for an HCL ID. A list of authorized IDs was created at the time that HCL SafeLinx was purchased. If the HCL ID being used to access HCL SafeLinx is not on this list, an entitlement failure message displays. Contact your HCL marketing representative for assistance with the authorized users list.
The x64 version is approximately 17 MB and the file name is linux-client_x86_64-<version>.tar.gz. After downloading the file, extract it with the command tar -xzvf linux-client_x86_64-<version>.tar.gz, then use the ./install_wc script to install it.
