Assigning/removing administrative privileges

This topic explains how to assign/remove administrative privileges.

About this task

If HCL® Quality Server built-in security functionality is being used and you are an administrator, you can assign and remove administrative privileges to and from other users.

To assign/remove administrative privileges to/from other users:

Procedure

  1. Log into HCL® Quality Server.
  2. Click the Administration navigation link.

    Alternatively, click the Administration icon on the Home page.

    The Administration page is displayed.

  3. Click the Users tab.
    Note: The Users tab will be not be displayed on the Administration page unless you are an administrator.

    The Users tab is displayed.

  4. To assign administrative privileges to the currently selected user, select the Administrator check box next to the users user name.
    The users privileges are changed. A status message is displayed to confirm this.
    Note: You cannot remove the administrator privileges from your own user account.

    Alternatively, to remove administrative privileged from the currently selected user, clear the Administrator check box next to the users user name.
