Modifying security model settings after installation

This section explains how to modify HCL Quality Server security model settings after installation.

About this task

Before installing HCL Quality Server, it is a good idea to consider whether and how users will be authenticated during login (for information about this, refer to Installation considerations for HCL Quality Server).

However, before and during installation of the HCL Quality Server, you might be unsure of security model requirements, or you might have insufficient information to enable you to configure (fully) your chosen security model option.

After installation, HCL Quality Server provides administrators with the means to modify security settings without having to reinstall the software.

To modify security model settings after installation:

Procedure

  1. Open IBM® Installation Manager and click Modify.
  2. Select HCL Quality Server package from the list to modify the package and click Next.
  3. In the Security Configuration page, select the required authentication mode from the Authentication Type list and click Next.
  4. Click Modify and then click Finish.
  5. Restart HCL Quality Server service to ensure that any changes you have made take effect.

Results

The selected type of authentication mode is applied for the users to log in to the HCL Quality Server.
