Installing the product software in the silent mode on Windows

Before you begin

You must be an administrator.
Note: If you are a non-admin user, you must have credentials of an administrator to start the installation by using the Run as Administrator option.
You must have completed the following tasks:
- Uninstalled any previous version of the product. See Uninstalling the product software in the silent mode on Windows.
- Installed OpenJDK 8 along with JVM OpenJ9. For more information, refer to the AdoptOpenJDK portal.
  
  Note: You can install OpenJDK V8 along with JVM OpenJ9 that is supported for Windows R12 or later on Windows 10 for using the stand-alone installer.
- Deleted the installer.properties file generated from the previous installation if you are installing a newer version of the product.
- Created a properties file that contains the inputs for the installer during the installation process. See Creating a properties file on Windows.
- Verified the software and hardware requirements. See System Requirements.

About this task

The 32-bit stand-alone installer of HCL OneTest™ UI supports only the SAP extension. The SAP, Citrix, and Siebel tests are supported only for 32-bit stand-alone HCL OneTest™ Performance installer and 32-bit shell-shared installer that are installed on Windows 64-bit operating system. You cannot update, modify or roll back the product by using the stand-alone installer.

Procedure

Open the command-line interface and log in as an administrator.
Change the directory to where you have downloaded the installer file by running the following command:
```
cd <directory path>
```
For example, cd C:\users\Downloads\HCL-OneTest-<Product_Name>-Windows-x64-v10.1.2.exe_10.1.2.v20201105_0440
Extract the downloaded installer file.
Start the installation process by running the following command:
```
<installer name> -i silent -f <location of the installer.properties file>
```
For example, HCL-OneTest-<Product_Name>-Windows-x64-v10.1.2.0.exe -i silent -f C:\users\Downloads\installer.properties
Note: If the installation is terminated due to any reason, you must check the Installerror.txt to know more about the problem that occurred during the installation process. The error log is located at \<installation directory>\Logs.
You can verify the status of the installation of the product by checking the log file at \<installation directory>\Logs.

Results

You have installed the product on your computer.
