Creating a webMethods Information Server cluster

If your webMethods Information Server deployment is installed as a cluster, then specific configuration steps apply to model each of the physical instances.

Procedure

  1. In HCL OneTest API Architecture School, Logical view, click Software AG > webMethods Integration Server Domain and complete the fields in the wizard.
  2. In the Physical view, create a resource for each individual Information Server.
  3. In the Physical view, create a cluster resource and configure it to be type webMethods IS Cluster. Add each of the individual server resources to the cluster.
For more information, see Adding a cluster to the Physical view.
  4. In the Logical view, bind the logical resource to the cluster resource.
For more information, see Changing component bindings.

Results

The cluster behaves like any other webMethods Information Server, with the following clarifications:
  • Tests are run against only one of the cluster members. The tester cannot specify which member is used.
  • Recordings are created for all members of the cluster.
  • Stub execution applies to all members of the cluster and processes service invocations regardless of where they are initiated.
  • When recording or stubbing, the captured message header includes the server name that the event originated from.
