Adding an identity to a WSDL service component

You can add an identity to a WSDL service component where username and password credentials are required to access the WSDL document or the service registry at a specified location.

About this task

You must add the identity through the Logical view, though after you add it, it is visible in the Physical view. You can add an identity to either the URL or the Service Registry page of the WSDL window. Add an identity where user name and password credentials are required to access the WSDL document or the service registry at the displayed location.

Procedure

  1. Create an identity with the required ID and password:
    1. In the Physical view of the Architecture School perspective, click General > Identity.
    2. Assign a Name of your choice to identify the identity.
    3. For the Type, specify Username/Password.
    4. In the Configuration section, specify the required Username and Password.
    5. Click OK.
  2. Change to the Logical view and double-click the root WSDL resource to which you want to add an identity.
    The WSDL window is displayed.
  3. In the Configuration section, for Current Location, click Change.
    The Select Location window is displayed.
  4. Click the URL tab or the Service Registry tab, depending on which location requires the authentication.
  5. In the Identity field, type the name that you assigned in step 1, or click Browse to display a list of available identities.
  6. Click OK when finished, and OK again in the WSDL window.
