Creating a single empty test

You can create a single empty test in HCL OneTest API, and you must add the test steps to the created test before you can run the test.

About this task

To create a new empty test, do the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Select the operation or folder in which you want to create the test.
  2. Perform any of the following actions:
    • Right-click the operation or folder and select New > Tests > Test from the menu.
    • Click the arrow next to the Test icon icon of the test icon in the Test Factory toolbar and select Test.
    Note: If you created a test already, you can right-click the Tests folder or one of the existing tests, and then select New > Test.
  3. Provide a name for the new test and, then click OK.

    The new test is opened for editing.

Results

You have created an empty test under an operation in the Test Factory view.
