Use this information to configure an IBM® Domino® network, users, servers (including Web servers), directory services, security, messaging, widgets and live text, and server clusters. Also use this information to set up IBM iNotes® on a server using Domino Off-Line Services (DOLS).
Configuring iNotes®
IBM® iNotes® (previously IBM Domino® Web Access) provides IBM Notes® users with browser-based access to Notes mail and to Notes calendar and scheduling features. Administrators specify mail policy and security policy settings as well as notes.ini file settings to complete the full implementation of IBM iNotes.
Integrating with other applications
IBM® iNotes® can be integrated with IBM Sametime®, IBM Quickr®, IBM Docs and IBM Connections.
Setting up iNotes® with Sametime®
IBM® iNotes® integrates an instant messaging (IM) capability so that users can chat with others online and maintain an instant messaging list that shows the online status of others.
Setting up Secrets and Tokens authentication for instant messaging in iNotes®
If you want to use Secrets and Tokens authentication databases for your instant messaging security instead of IBM® Domino® Single Sign-On (SSO) Authentication, you must create a one-time replica of the Tokens database on the IBM iNotes® server.

Configuring

Users can upload received attachments to Connections Files and then remove the attachment from the email and replace it with a link to the newly uploaded file to save space it their mail file. Connections 3.6 and more recent versions are supported for integration with iNotes.

      Provide IBM® iNotes® users the ability to view documents with IBM Docs. You can allow users to view all supported document file types or you can specify which of the supported file types users are allowed to view with IBM Docs.

- Configuring Web servers
  This section describes how to set up the IBM® Domino® Web server, the Domino Web Navigator, and other Web servers such as IBM HTTP.

  Domino® Off-Line Services (DOLS) provides a way for users to take Domino Web applications offline, work in them, and synchronize the changes with an online replica on the Domino server. Users are not required to have Notes® client because the applications are accessed with a browser.
- Setting up a cluster
  Setting up a cluster includes the tasks of creating and verifying that it is working correctly, and then setting up user access, mail, replications, size quotas, directory assistance, roaming, web navigation, and use of a private LAN in the cluster.

Setting up Secrets and Tokens authentication for instant messaging in iNotes®

If you want to use Secrets and Tokens authentication databases for your instant messaging security instead of IBM® Domino® Single Sign-On (SSO) Authentication, you must create a one-time replica of the Tokens database on the IBM® iNotes® server.

About this task

Because file names are case sensitive on UNIX™, the Secrets database name used in this example must be entered exactly as STAuthS.nsf.

After you have replicated stauths.nsf from your IBM® Sametime® server to your Domino® server, open the Replication Settings dialog box for the database, click Other, and enable the setting Temporarily disable replication for this replica. This will prevent another version of the database from a Microsoft™ Windows™ system from overwriting the name change for the UNIX™ server.

To replicate stauths.nsf from the Sametime® server to the Domino® server directory, do the following:

Procedure

Using an IBM® Notes® client, click File > Open > Notes Application.
Enter the name of the Sametime® server, for example, Sametime/Renovations.
Enter the Secrets database filename: stauths.nsf
Click Open.
Choose FileReplicationNew replica.
Enter the name of the Domino® server, for example, iNotes/Renovations.
Ensure that the database is replicated to the data directory: ...\domino\data\stauths.nsf.
Click OK to create the replica.
