Connectors
Connectors provide native access to a wide variety of DBMS products, ODBC, the platform File system, Enterprise Resource Planning systems, and Transaction Processing systems.
Accessing external databases through LS:DO
Developers are advised not to use LS:DO. Developers should use the Connector LSX for (LCLSX) when accessing external data sources.

    LotusScript® Extensions for Connectors (LC LSX) enhances the power of Notes® by extending its scripting to data outside of Notes through the use of Connectors. The programming model is independent of the individual connector. LS:DO requirements

Before you can access external databases with LS:DO, you must install all required software on your computer.

Platforms

Notes supports LS:DO on the following platforms, provided an appropriate ODBC driver and server are available:

Windows
UNIX, AIX, Solaris Sparc
IBM S/390, OS/400

ODBC software

To use LS:DO, you need:

The ODBC driver manager and administrator, Version 2.0 or later.
ODBC drivers for the external databases you are accessing.

Consult the appropriate document for your platform and database software to determine whether your platform supports ODBC and how to configure it.

Client DBMS software

In some cases, the client software for the databases you are accessing must be installed on the computer that is executing your script. Consult the DBMS documentation to determine which components must be installed.

Additional software

Your platform may require additional software for using ODBC (for example, AIX requires additional ODBC driver managers); consult the documentation for your platform.
