Installing DevOps Test Integrations and APIs Agent in the console mode on Linux

You can find information about installing HCL DevOps Test Integrations and APIs Agent (Test Integrations and APIs Agent) in the console mode on Linux by using the stand-alone installer.

Before you begin

You must have completed the following tasks:

Procedure

  1. Open a terminal and log in as a root user.
  2. Extract the compressed file by entering the following command:
    unzip <package_name>
    Note: For example, the name of the software package for Test Integrations and APIs Agent is DevOps_Test_APIA_1101_Install_IA_LNX.zip.
  3. Run the following command:

    ./DevOps-Test-API-Agent-Linux-x64-v11.0.1.bin -i console

    The Introduction window of the stand-alone installer is displayed.

  4. Optionally, select the language from the drop-down list in which you want to install the product and use the stand-alone installer.
    The options of the languages in which you can install the product depends on the display language that is configured on your computer. You can install the product in any of the following languages that are supported:
    • English
    • French
    • Japanese
    The stand-alone installer UI is displayed in the language that you select.
  5. Read through the details, and then click Next.

    The License Agreement window is displayed.

  6. Read the license agreement carefully, select the I accept checkbox, and then click Next.

    The Select Install Folder window is displayed.

  7. Select the location to install the software by performing any of the following actions:
    • Select the default location that is displayed.

      The default location is /opt/HCL/DevOpsTestAPIAgent.

    • Click Choose, browse for a location on your computer, and then click OK to select the location.
      Note: You must select an existing folder or create a folder in any of the root directories on your computer.
  8. Click Next.

    The Configuration window is displayed.

  9. Enter the URL of Test Virtualization Control Panel instance on which Test Integrations and APIs Agent must be registered.
    Important: When you want to register the agent with Test Hub after you install the agent, you must add the hostname, team space alias, and the offline user token under the <server> section in the <agent_installation_folder>/config/Agent.config file.
  10. Click Next.
    The Install Service window is displayed.
    Note: The Install Service checkbox and Start On Boot checkbox are selected as the default options.
    The following actions are possible:
    • If the selections are retained, Test Integrations and APIs Agent is installed as a service and it is started whenever the computer is started.
    • If the selections are cleared, Test Integrations and APIs Agent is not installed as a service and you must manually start the agent.
  11. Click Next.

    The Service Permissions configuration window is displayed.

  12. Select your action based on the descriptions for the options displayed:
    Option Description
    Run as Local Service Runs Test Integrations and APIs Agent as a service.
    Run as existing user Runs Test Integrations and APIs Agent with a user authenticated with a user name and password.
    Note: You must provide a user name and a password.
  13. Click Next.

    The License server details window is displayed.

  14. Perform the action as described in the following table for the type of license server that you configured:
    Option Action
    Server URL Enter the license server URL for any of the following types of servers that you configured:
    • Cloud license server
    • Local license server
    Server ID Enter the license server ID for any of the following types of servers that you configured:
    • Cloud license server
    • Local license server
    Proxy Host Enter the host name or IP address of the proxy license server that you configured.
    Proxy Port Enter the port of the proxy license server that you configured.
    Username Enter the user name of the user that you configured to use the proxy license server.
    Password Enter the password for the user that you configured to use the proxy license server.
  15. Click Next.

    The Pre-Installation Summary window is displayed.

  16. Read through the details, and then click Install.
    The Install Complete window is displayed after the installation of Test Integrations and APIs Agent is completed.
    Note: The Start Library Manager (Agent) checkbox is selected as the default option. The Library Manager for the agent is displayed when you click Done. If the Start Library Manager (Agent) checkbox is cleared, the stand-alone installer window is closed without opening Library Manager.
  17. Retain or clear the Start Library Manager (Agent) checkbox, and then click Done to close the stand-alone installer.

Results

You have installed the product on your computer.

What to do next

You can check the installation log to verify the installation. You can find the logs in the <Installation_folder>/logs folder.
