Viewing results in DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel

You can use HCL DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel (Test Virtualization Control Panel) to display the results of tests that you run in both HCL DevOps Test Integrations and APIs (Test Integrations and APIs) and Test Virtualization Control Panel.

Procedure

  1. Make sure that Test Virtualization Control Panel is configured to use the database driver that corresponds to the results database whose contents you want to display. To use a database driver, copy the .jar file to the following folder:
    Quality_Server_installation_directory\usr\servers\defaultServer\apps\RTCP.war\WEB-INF\lib
  2. On the Results page of the user interface for Test Virtualization Control Panel, locate the Database field. In the Database field, select the database to be displayed.
To add a database to the list, two methods are available:
    • In Test Integrations and APIs, complete the following steps:
      1. From the top menu, click Project > Project Settings.
      2. Click the Server Settings tab.
      3. In the Control Panel section, click Publish results database connection.
      4. Refresh the Results page in the browser.
    • In Test Virtualization Control Panel, complete the following steps:
      1. In the top menu, click Administration.
      2. Click the Results databases tab.
      3. Click New.
      4. In the Enter new database details window, enter a name for the database. This field has no label. If you leave the field blank, a descriptive name is created for you.
      5. In the Type field, select the type of the database.
      6. A template for the JDBC URL, which is based on database type, is displayed in the Database URL field. Edit this field to match the value for your database. For more information on the specification of database URLs when using IP literal addresses, see IP literal address.
      7. If credentials are required to access the database, complete the Username and Password fields.
      8. Click Test Connection to verify the information that you entered. If an error message is displayed, review the contents of the Database URL field.
      9. When the information is correct, click Save.
      10. Return to the Results page. The new database entry is now listed in the Database field.
  3. Use the Type field to filter results by the following types of results:
    Tests
Results that are generated by single tests.
    Suites
Results that are generated by test suites.
    Stubs
Results that are generated by stubs.
    Test cycles
Results that are generated by full test cycles.
  4. Use the Name field to filter results according to the name of the test, suite, stub, or cycle.
Partial names are recognized, and a percent sign (%) can be used as a wildcard to match any number of characters. Contents of the field are not case sensitive. If you have a test suite named "DataTestSuite", then "data", "Test", or "Data%Suite" finds the results for the suite. Leave this field empty to retrieve all results.
  5. Use the From and To fields to provide a date range for the displayed results.
  6. Click Search to display the requested results.
Note: The Domain field is not relevant to the Results page.
  7. To view more detailed results, click the link in the Start time column for any displayed result.
A new page is displayed that contains execution records for the selected test, suite, stub, or cycle.
