Creating a properties file on macOS
To install the product in the silent mode, you must first create a properties file that contains the data required to install the product. Alternatively, you can generate the properties file by using the stand-alone installer.
About this task
You can create the properties file by using one of the following methods:
Procedure
-
Download the product stand-alone installer from the HCL License & Delivery portal.
You can download the appropriate product variant, version, and architecture based on your requirements.Note: When you want to install both Rational® Functional Tester and Rational® Performance Tester on your computer, you can install the products by using a single shell-shared HCL OneTest UI and Performance installer that is available in the HCL License & Delivery portal.
- Open the terminal and log in as an administrator.
-
Change the directory to where you have downloaded the installer file by running
the following command:
cd <directory path>
For example, cd /Users/Applications/HCL/HCL-OneTest-<Product_Name>-mac-x64-v10.1.2.app_10.1.2.v20201105_0440
-
Run the following command to generate the properties file:
<installer_file.app> -r <location of the installer.properties file>
For example, HCL-OneTest-<Product_name>-mac-x64-v10.1.2.0.app -r /Users/Applications/HCL/installer.properties
-
Create the properties file by copying the content of the following sample
