Stopping stubs by using the DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel method

When you want to stop stubs that are running on HCL DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel (Test Virtualization Control Panel), you can stop individual stubs or stop multiple stubs from the Environments Dashboard or Infrastructure Dashboard.

Before you begin

You must have started the stubs that are published to Test Virtualization Control Panel or the stubs must be running on Test Virtualization Control Panel. See Starting stubs.

About this task

You must stop the running stubs in the following situations:
  • When you no longer require the stubs to run on Test Virtualization Control Panel.
  • When you want to stop the engine of the agent that is running.
Note: You must stop the stubs that are running otherwise the stubs continue to run indefinitely.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Test Virtualization Control Panel.
  2. Open any of the following dashboards:
    • The Environments Dashboard, if the stubs are running on Test Virtualization Control Panel.
    • The Infrastructure Dashboard, if the stubs are running on agent computers.
  3. Perform the action described in the following table to stop running stubs:
    To stop... Action...

    A stub from the Environments Dashboard.

    Click the STOP stub icon image of the icon for the stub that is in the STARTING or RUNNING state.

    All running stubs in the selected <domain>:<environment> from the Environments Dashboard.

    Click the STOP stub icon image of the icon.

    The running stubs that are in a scenario for the selected <domain>:<environment> from the Environments Dashboard.

    Perform the following steps:
    1. Expand the scenario.
    2. Click the STOP stub icon image of the icon for the stub that is in the STARTING or RUNNING state.
    The status of the stub changes from STARTING or RUNNING to STOPPING or STOPPED.
    Note: A scenario is displayed as RUNNING until all of the stubs contained in the scenario are stopped.

    All running stubs that are running on an agent engine when you stop the engine, from the Infrastructure Dashboard.

    Perform the following steps:
    1. Expand the agent on which the stubs are running.
    2. Expand the Engines section.
    3. Click STOP to stop the engine.
    4. Select the Stop the stubs associated with this engine? check box.
    5. Click STOP.
    Note: You must stop the stubs that are running on the agent engine when you stop the engine to prevent the stubs from restarting after the engine is stopped.
