Server extensions and features

You can run specific tests in HCL OneTest Server by enabling the server extensions. You can also author or edit test assets if test authoring feature is enabled.

The server extensions are enabled at the time of installation of the server software. When the server extensions are enabled, you can perform the following tasks on HCL OneTest Server:
  • Add repositories that contain the test assets for the Postman collections, JMeter tests, or JUnit tests.

  • Configure a test run for the following test types:

    • JMeter

    • JUnit

    • Postman

The test authoring feature provides you to author or edit test assets in HCL OneTest Server. Depending on the platform you used to install the server software, the default status of the feature can be enabled or disabled.

The default status of the test authoring feature is disabled when you install the server software on Ubuntu (by using k3s). However, the test authoring feature is enabled when you install the server software on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

After you install the server software, you can enable or disable the test authoring feature based on your requirements.
