Welcome to the HCL Connections 6 CR6 documentation, where you can find information about HCL Connections 6. HCL Connections is social networking software designed for the workplace. Its features help you to establish dynamic networks that connect you to the people and information you need to achieve your business goals.
- Accessibility features for HCL Connections™
  Accessibility features assist users who have a disability, such as restricted mobility or limited vision, to use information technology content successfully.
- Overview
  HCL Connections™ is a collaborative tool that makes it easy to connect with others and exchange ideas. Start sharing important information, building a network of useful contacts, and following people that interest you.
- Home page
  Use the home page as a command center to scan and manage items that need your attention. You can view your most recent project updates, check in on the people you follow, and review your action items all from one place.
- Profiles
  Use profiles to connect with others, showcase your skills, and find the people you need.
- Activities
  Use activities to keep a team informed, collect and share project resources, or to assign and track tasks.
- Files
  Using the Files app, you can upload, organize, share and collaborate on files easily. Files can be shared, tagged, organized in folders, and accessed from other applications, such as Activities and Communities.
- Communities
  Get together with people who share your interests.
- Blogs
  Use blogs to share your announcements, updates, and opinions with others.

    Ready to share information and ideas with others? Learn how to create a blog, post an entry, and add extra content.
  - Connecting with other blogs
    Get involved in the conversation! Find blogs to follow, like entries that interest you, and share your own entries with others.
    - Posting a comment
      Get involved in the discussion! Comment on a blog post or respond to a comment on your own.
    - Liking an entry
      Let the author know that you liked a particular blog entry and recommend it to others. Liking an entry gives that entry more relative importance when the entries are sorted by using the Likes/Votes option.
    - Finding a blog or entry
      Find new blogs and entries that matter to you.
    - Following a blog
      Follow a blog to stay up-to-date on new posts and announcements. The notifications are delivered to the Notifications section of your home page.
    - Notifying a user about a blog entry
      Notify other blog users about an entry that you think might be of interest.
    - Flagging an entry as inappropriate
      See something you consider inappropriate? Flag the entry so that a reviewer can determine whether to remove it from the blog. This feature must be enabled by your administrator.
  - Managing a blog
    Are you a blog owner? Learn how to customize your blog, manage blog content, or read an overview of blog permissions.
  - Blogging within a community
    Use a blog to enhance your community with a way to ask a question, brainstorm, or simply share your ideas.

  Share information, brainstorm ideas, ask and answer questions, and discuss topics of mutual interest in a forum.

  Tap the wisdom of the crowd by building a body of knowledge in a wiki. Everyone on your team can make a contribution.

Finding a blog or entry

Find new blogs and entries that matter to you.

Finding a blog

Click Public Blogs Listing in the navigation pane and select Blogs Listing to see all of the blogs for your organization.
Select a blog from the navigation pane:
- Featured Blogs displays a sampling of blogs over the last two weeks.
- The Most Liked list displays blogs that contain entries with the most likes.
- The Most Voted list displays the ideation blogs that had the most voting activity over the past two weeks.
- The Most Commented list displays the blogs with the most comments.
- The Most Visited list displays the blogs that had the greatest number of hits over the past two weeks.
Click a tag in the tag cloud to see blog entries that are associated with that tag, then click the blog name from the entry to open the blog.
Search for a blog. You can change the search scope to search for blogs by name, description, or tags.
Hover over the name of a person to open their business card, and then click Blogs to see a blog they own. If they have a default blog, clicking their name opens the default blog. If they do not have a blog, clicking their name opens the most recently created blog that person belongs to.

Finding an entry

Click Latest Blog Entries on the Public Blogs page to see the most recent entries.
Click a tag in the tag cloud to see all blog entries that are associated with a particular tag.
Search for a blog entry. You can change the search scope to search for blog entries by author or tags.
Click an entry from the Featured Blog Entries section of the Public Blogs page. Featured entries are a sampling of entries posted in the past two weeks.
Select an entry from the navigation pane:
- The Most Liked list displays the entries that received the most likes.
- The Most Voted list displays the ideation blog entries that had the most voting activity over the past two weeks.
- The Most Commented list displays the entries with the most comments.
- The Most Visited list displays the entries that had the greatest number of hits.
Click a blog entry that someone notifies you about from your Notifications Received list on your My Updates page.
Click the My Updates tab to see only entries you authored.
If you click a blog to view it, the Similar Blogs section shows blog entries that share common tags.
