Integrating with other products
You can integrate IBM® Connections applications with other products.
Extend IBM Connections to work with the following products:
- IBM Connections Plug-in for IBM Notes
- Access Connections content from within your IBM Notes client. This combined plug-in installs sidebar applications so that you can access and interact with activities, status updates, and files without leaving your Notes client.

Share, connect, and do business socially from Microsoft Windows Explorer , Microsoft Outlook, or Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word). The Desktop Plug-ins add social networking features such as Activities, Blogs, Communities, Files, and Wikis to Windows-based applications. Upload local files from Windows Explorer. Share files, work on files locally, then publish. Access social capabilities (like, follow, comments) directly from Windows Explorer. Publish to a blog, attach a document to a Wiki, and search for content. Use file sync to automatically synchronize changes between a local copy of a file and a server copy. Always have the latest version of a file at your fingertips, whether you are working offline or on the server copy.

This app lets you access IBM Connections content from the sidebar of your Outlook mail client. Collaborate on files, share email, view content in a Connections community, and socialize with your colleagues without leaving your Outlook client.

- Use the IBM Connections Plug-in for Microsoft SharePoint to integrate IBM Connections collaboration services with Microsoft SharePoint.
Use these other products from within IBM Connections:
- IBM Connections Widget for Microsoft SharePoint
- Use the IBM Connections Widget for Microsoft SharePoint to access Microsoft SharePoint documents from a community.
- Install IBM Connections before attempting to install and use the plug-ins. The plug-ins rely on the functionality of the applications provided in the IBM Connections application.
- Do not configure IBM Connections to prevent email addresses from being displayed. If you hide email addresses, the extensions will not function, with the exception of the connectors for Communities.
