IBM® Client Application Access V1.0.1 documentation
Welcome to the IBM® Client Application Access 1.0.1 documentation, where you can find information about how to install, configure, and use IBM Client Application Access 1.0.1.
IBM® Client Application Access (ICAA) is a small, stand-alone application that allows you to work with your IBM Notes® and IBM Domino® applications. It is supported on Microsoft™ Windows™ and Mac OS systems.

The following features are new in IBM® Client Application Access (ICAA) 1.0.1.
Operating systems supported
IBM® Client Application Access 1.0.1 supports the following operating systems.
Domino® versions supported
Along with local applications, IBM® Client Application Access supports applications on older IBM Domino® server versions, for example, 8.0.x and 8.5.x. However, using Domino version 9.0 or later version is recommended so that you can take advantage of the latest enhancements.

Accessibility features help users who have a disability, such as restricted mobility or limited vision, to use information technology products successfully.
You can install IBM® Client Application Access on Microsoft™ Windows™ or Mac OS systems.
Dual client installation scenarios
IBM® Client Application Access (ICAA) and IBM Notes® release 9.0 or later can co-exist on your system. In this case, you can use either Notes or ICAA. When you open an application and Notes is not running, the application is opened in ICAA.
Installing on Microsoft Windows™
Follow these steps to install IBM® Client Application Access (ICAA) on Microsoft™ Windows™ if the installation isn't done for you.

Upgrading to the current release
You can upgrade to the current release of IBM® Client Application Access (ICAA) from a previous ICAA release and from the standalone Notes® Browser Plug-in. If you are a cloud user with ICAA currently installed, upgrades occur automatically through the Auto Update Service.
Configure IBM® Client Application Access (ICAA) when you install it for the first time and you don't already use IBM Notes®. If you install it for the first time and already use Notes, ICAA is configured and you can skip this step.
Configuring on Microsoft™ Windows™
Configure IBM® Client Application Access (ICAA) the first time you use it. If you currently use IBM Notes®, ICAA is already configured and you can skip this procedure.
Configuring on Mac OS
Configure IBM® Client Application Access (ICAA) the first time you use it. If you currently use IBM Notes®, ICAA is already configured and you can skip this procedure.

Administrators can add client settings to customize IBM® Client Application Access (ICAA).

Opening mail
When you use IBM® Client Application Access (ICAA) and you're an IBM SmartCloud® Notes® user, you can open your mail in IBM Verse or SmartCloud Notes web. If you're an on-premises user (you use an IBM Domino® server at your company site), you can open your mail in IBM iNotes®.
Opening applications
Open applications from an IBM® Notes® link or button in an email message. Or, open them directly from IBM Client Application Access (ICAA).
Opening the Home page
Your IBM® Client Application Access (ICAA) Home page gives you access to mail, contacts, notebooks, bookmarks, recent applications, and the Workspace from one page.
Opening the Workspace
The applications that you've used are shown in the Workspace as icons on tabbed pages.
Using bookmarks
When you install IBM® Client Application Access and use it for the first time, all the bookmarks stored in your bookmark.nsf file are transferred to the navigator.

Limitations
Spell checking is not available with IBM® Client Application Access on Microsoft™ Windows™. Attachment viewing is not available on Windows or on Mac OS.
