Testing for malware

Test your application for malware and malicious external links.

About this task

The scan analyzes the content obtained during the Explore phase of a regular content scan. "Malware" (malicious software) is a rapidly growing problem. It is primarily delivered through web applications, either by malicious content that exploits client-side vulnerabilities (such as security holes in the browser, image rendering services, or Microsoft™ ActiveX controls) or by "socially engineering" (tricking) users into downloading software that contains hidden, malicious code.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Malware page of the content scan job and enable malware testing.
  2. Configure any required limits, scope, URL exclusions, and additional results.
  3. Click Save and run the job from the Folder Explorer.

The results are added to the regular scan results as an Issue Type in the following reports:
