Installing the Network Capture Application
The following instructions can be used to assist the installation of your Network Capture Application software.
DNCA installation requirements
The following requirements must be met before you install the Unica Discover Network Capture Application:
Operating system requirements
The following operating system requirements must be met before installing the Unica Discover Network Capture Application.
Disable SELinux
The security enhancement features of Red Hat Linux™ are not compatible with the Unica DiscoverNetwork Capture Application. Multiple system settings are not allowed in SELinux mode, and the syslog system is not available, which prevents the DNCA capture.log from working.

Disable SELinux

The security enhancement features of Red Hat Linux™ are not compatible with the Unica DiscoverNetwork Capture Application. Multiple system settings are not allowed in SELinux mode, and the syslog system is not available, which prevents the DNCA capture.log from working.

If SELinux is enabled and the Discover script is used to start capture, a warning is printed.
A warning message is also displayed in the DNCA Web Console when SELinux is enabled.

Before you install the Unica Discover Network Capture Application, SELinux must be disabled through the operating system. For more information, see the documentation for your Linux™ distribution.
