Data Export for Data Analysis
Unica Discover Data Export enables flexible export and fluid integration of Discover session data to any external business application to create multi-channel perspectives of your visitors' experience.
Discover Event Bus
The Event Bus streams Discover event data from the Short Term Canister, the in-memory database, to a Discover pipeline. The pipeline can then deliver the event data to any system configured to receive it. The ability to send the event data as a stream in real time makes the event bus useful for integrating with real-time systems.

  - Data Export overview
    Unica Discover Data Export provides you with the ability to analyze and report on data captured by Discover within various third-party solutions, including custom reporting tools and databases, warehouses, business intelligence environments, and web analytics products. Additionally, Unica Discover Data Export enables the creation of a persistent store of session data from your web applications.

      This example uses the data files integration method of Unica Discover Data Export to extract specific URLs, URL Fields, and Cookies and import this data into the Data Files temporary database.

    - Task execution
      At the scheduled time, Unica Discover Data Export runs the specified task. At the time of execution, Unica Discover Data Export requires that basic Unica Discover services, such as Search Server be available. Additionally, the Discover Extractor Service must be operational.

      The Event Bus streams Discover event data from the Short Term Canister, the in-memory database, to a Discover pipeline.         The Discover Event Bus is a separately configurable component of Unica Discover Data Export.

        The Event Bus receives the request data from each page. If a page has multiple events, then the Event Bus receives a single hit.

Event Bus pipeline

The default Event Bus pipeline has the following active session agents:

DecoupleEx
Null

The Null session agent ends delivery of event data. Nothing happens until an appropriate destination is enabled in the pipeline.

The configuration file is DiscoverEventBus.cfg and is in the Discover installation directory (<Installed drive>\Discover). You can modify this file as needed to send the event bus data to the appropriate session agent for further processing and transmission of the data to a receiving system.

Note: The preferred method of configuring the Event Bus is through the Discover Management System.
