Managing search templates

You can add, modify, and remove search templates.

Adding search templates

About this task

To add a new template, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Select Sessions > Manage Search Templates.
    The Search Templates page appears.
  2. Click .
  3. In the General tab, complete the following steps:
    1. Enter an appropriate Name for the search template.
    2. Select the required value for the following fields:
      • Search Type
      • Date Span
      • Scope
      • Sort By
      • Timeout
      • Auto Stop
      • Session List Template
  4. In the Search Fields tab, complete the following steps:
    1. Click .
    2. Select Add Field.
      The Search Field Selector dialog appears.
    3. Select the required field, or use the search bar to locate the required field and select the field.
    4. Click Select.
    5. You can also create a search field group. At Step b, instead of Add Field, select Add Group.
      The Configure Search Field Group dialog appears.
    6. Type an appropriate name and select OK.
      A folder appears in the Search Fields tab.
    7. Select the folder and click .
    8. To add fields to the group, perform Step c and Step d for each field.
  5. In the Permissions tab, complete the following steps:
    1. Select or unselect the user roles.
  6. Click Save.

Modifying search templates

About this task

To modify an existing searching template, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Select Sessions > Manage Search Templates.
    The Search Templates page appears.
  2. Select the required template and click .
  3. Make the necessary modifications. For more information, see Adding search templates.
  4. Click Save.

Removing search templates

About this task

To remove an existing searching template, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Select Sessions > Manage Search Templates.
    The Search Templates page appears.
  2. Select the required template and click .
    A confirmation box appears.
  3. Click Ok to remove the search template.
