Authentication

During the installation process for SQL Server, you are prompted for the type of authentication in use for the install account.

The account in use should have both Windows and SQL Server authentication.

Note: If your account is restricted to Windows-only authentication, and you are upgrading Discover databases on an SQL Server, see Upgrading Discover databases on SQL Server when your account is restricted to Windows-only authentication in the topic titled "Other common database scenarios".
Note: If your account is restricted to Windows-only authentication, and you are installing Discover databases on an SQL Server, see Installing Discover databases on SQL Server when your account is restricted to Windows-only authentication in the topic titled "Scenario 2: Partial permissions; must grant permissions to Discover database users".
Note: The accounts that you use for the Discover databases should not be shared with any other application in your SQL Server environment.
Note: If these logins are created with names other than the default ones, that information must also be updated in the Report Server configuration. See "Configuring the Report Server" in the Unica Discover Configuration Manual.
