Administering Unica Discover involves configuring and integrating the Unica Discover client framework with your web applications or mobile native applications, installing and administering the databases used by Unica Discover, defining event objects and configuring events, hit attributes, dimensions, and other object attributes used by Unica Discover to monitor mission-critical metrics of your web application's performance.

Database Administration
The Unica Discover datastore runs on top of a set of four Microsoft™ SQL Server databases.
Database backup strategy
Your Discover databases should be backed up regularly for recovery and performance reasons. Without valid backups, Discover may be unable to recover customer data in the event of a system failure or data corruption.
Alternate backup strategies
If the Discover databases cannot be backed up on a nightly basis or another recovery model or backup strategy is required for business reasons, you should ensure that the Discover databases are backed up and maintained properly. Failure to do so may result in wasted space and decreased system performance.
