      Portal announcements are messages displayed to all Portal users upon login. These messages can be used to display current system status, scheduled maintenance windows, or other Discover-related issues.

  - Securing Interprocess Communication
    Discover 12.1.8 and above supports the use of a new SSL certificate based mechanism for securing all inter-process communication between the Discover servers. This is important in a distributed environment with multiple servers, as the components of Discover communicate with each other over the network, using a variety of ports.

Discover Servers

In the Discover Servers area, you can review all available Discover servers, which may include HCL Discover Transport Servers, HCL Discover datastores and HCL Discover indexing machines for search, event detection, and session replay.

The server definitions configured in the Portal Management page are used by the Portal for communicating with the servers and services in your Discover system.

To manage your Discover servers, select Discover > Manage Portal > Discover Servers.
To display inactive canister servers, click Display Inactive. See Deactivating a server.
