Using the ArchiveConfig utility

Run the ArchiveConfig utility to configure and execute Selective Archiving.

To use the ArchiveConfig utility, complete the following steps:

  1. Access the ArchiveConfig utility from the Discover Home folder. The Discover Archive Config panel opens.
  2. To add an Archive, click Add. The Archive Properties panel opens.
    1. Provide values for the following fields:
      • Name
      • Port
    2. Provide values for the following fields:
      • Path - Provide the path for the parent directory of the CANISTER.dbs directory.
      • Index Path - Provide the path for the parent directory of the Indexes directory.
      Note:
      • If the folder path mentioned for Path and Index Path does not exist, the system automatically creates the folders in the specified path.
      • Ensure that you have access to the drives or the folders where you wish to store CANISTER.dbs and Indexes.
    3. For the Portal Server field provide the name of the server or the system.
    4. If required, deselect or select the Log Enable field and provide an appropriate value for the following fields:
      • Days to Keep Logs
      • Days to Keep Session Data
    5. Click OK. The control passes back to the Discover Archive Config panel.
  3. Click Start or Restart to start or restart the Discover Archive Server service.
  4. Access Session Archiving menu to add Selecting Archiving tasks. For more information, see Unica Discover Session Archiving Guide.

From version 12.1.10, the Discover Archive Config function is also accessible from the Portal. To access the Discover Archive Config function from the Portal, complete the following steps:

  1. Access the Portal.
  2. Navigate to Discover > Manage Services > WorldView.
  3. Perform any one of the following steps based on your Discover setup:
    • If it is an all-in-one server setup, within the (Master) server, expand Archive Server.
    • If it is a distributed server setup, within the (SAS) server, expand Archive Server.
  4. Select Archive Server configuration. The Discover Archive Config dialog opens.
  5. The steps to perform the archive are similar to the steps performed using the utility. For more information, see the earlier procedure.
